By making a booking with Mackerel Fishing Tenby (“MFT”) you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions during your time with us. Where a booking is made on behalf of a group, the person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that all passengers have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with English Law, and any claims shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Harbour & Third-Party Responsibility Tenby Harbour and Pier are owned and maintained by Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC). MFT shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury occurring on the pier, harbour landings, or surrounding areas.
PCC shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of, or in connection with, the operation of MFT, including (but not limited to) loss of property, personal belongings, financial loss, or personal injury.
Tickets & Passenger Numbers · Tickets may be purchased individually or a vessel may be hired exclusively (“Private Charter”).
· Maximum passenger numbers are governed by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and must not be exceeded. All passengers, including children and infants, count toward this limit.
· All passengers must have a valid booking prior to boarding. Any person attempting to board without a valid booking may be refused entry.
MFT operates seasonally, typically between March and October, subject to weather, tides, and operational requirements.
· Full payment is required at the time of booking.
· Once a booking is confirmed, MFT incurs costs in preparation for your trip; therefore, bookings are non-transferable except in extenuating circumstances and with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice, at the discretion of MFT.
· MFT reserves the right to move or reschedule bookings due to operational requirements, safety considerations, or weather conditions.
Where a minimum number of passengers is required for a shared trip and this is not met, MFT reserves the right to reschedule the trip. Customers will be offered an alternative date/time or a refund.
· MFT will always prioritise safety. Trips may be cancelled or curtailed due to weather, sea conditions, mechanical issues, or other safety-related concerns.
· In the event that MFT cancels a trip, customers will receive a full refund for the booking price paid. No further liability will be accepted for travel or associated costs.
· If a trip must return early due to unforeseen circumstances, refunds or replacement tickets are not guaranteed.
Weather conditions are beyond our control and do not automatically entitle customers to rescheduling or refunds unless MFT cancels the trip.
· Passengers must arrive at the designated boarding point at least 20 minutes prior to departure time (30 minutes during peak summer months).
· Late arrivals may miss their trip and will not be entitled to a refund or rebooking.
· MFT is not responsible for delays caused by traffic, parking, or public transport issues.
Medical Conditions & Pregnancy · Passengers sail entirely at their own risk.
· All boats can experience unpredictable movements that may aggravate existing medical conditions.
· Passengers must disclose any medical conditions or disabilities that may affect their safety or the skipper’s decision to carry them, including (but not limited to): epilepsy, heart conditions, diabetes, back or spinal conditions, dizziness, or pregnancy.
· Expectant mothers are advised to contact us prior to booking for guidance.
· Fishing activities are subject to weather, sea conditions, and fish availability. Catch is not guaranteed.
· All fishing is conducted responsibly and in accordance with relevant regulations.
· Certain species may be subject to catch-and-release rules.
· Any catch retained is at the skipper’s discretion.
Clothing & Personal Belongings · Passengers should dress appropriately for marine conditions.
· MFT accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
· Fishing equipment and bait may result in staining or odour; suitable clothing is advised.
Behaviour, Safety & Conduct Passengers may be refused boarding or removed from the vessel if they:
· Behave in a manner that compromises safety or enjoyment of others
· Use abusive, aggressive, or threatening language or behaviour
· Appear under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol
A zero-tolerance drugs policy is enforced.
The following are strictly prohibited onboard: – Weapons, fireworks, flares, smoke devices, glass bottles, or flammable substances – Smoking or vaping – Throwing any items from the vessel
Dogs may be permitted at the skipper’s discretion. Other animals are not permitted without prior consent.
Children
Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
· Private charters may only be booked by persons aged 18 or over.
· Bookings may not be resold or transferred without written consent from MFT.
· Limited storage is available for small bags.
· Pushchairs, walkers, or wheelchairs can be stowed where possible but must be folded.
· MFT accepts no responsibility for items left onboard.
Photography and video recording may take place onboard for promotional purposes. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, passengers grant MFT permission to use such images in perpetuity across all media formats.
Passengers may take personal photographs at their own risk. MFT accepts no liability for damage to equipment.
Any complaints should be raised with the skipper or crew on the day where possible.
Further complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the trip to:
We aim to respond within 72 hours, though this may take longer where investigation is required.
Business & Trade Customers · Full payment is required unless a credit account has been agreed in writing.
· Invoices must be paid within agreed terms.
· Trade partners are responsible for ensuring their clients understand and comply with these Terms and Conditions.
· MFT intellectual property, branding, and imagery may not be used without written permission.
